The arched window provides such an attractive focal point in any room yet remains the most puzzling and difficult window to treat for light and privacy control.
Personally, I usually take the simplest path and let the window speak for itself rather than detract from its charm by trying “too hard” to adorn it.
Simple traversing draperies…….
Accenting with wood shutters….
( by Hunter Douglas, of course!)
An airy Roman Shade…..
What are your favorite solutions???

Hello:
We do tend to agree that the more ornate the window itself, the simpler the window dressing should be in order to allow the window's architecture to be dominant.
In our Herefordshire cottage we had small windows in an upstairs room which were odd shapes because of the roof beams. There we had silk curtains which were Italian strung and that was a pretty effect.
Thanks for your input, Jane and Lance! "Less is more" a great majority of the time, isn't it?
Gorgeous!!! I think all of these are done perfectly! Love the windows in that last photo! xo
Thanks for stopping by, Debby. I love that one too! It really allows the full architecture of the window to be displayed! Have a great day!
